Brewers Association List of 50 Largest Craft Breweries

The Brewers Association just released their list of the ‘Top 50′ craft brewing companies by beer sales volume. I think this was an odd name to choose for the list because TOP 50 implies that they are the best 50, not just the largest 50 breweries. And wasn’t the whole point of the craft brewing movement to celebrate quality over quantity? I’m all for celebrating when good beer becomes a bigger phenomenon and those who devote their lives to producing liquid goodness to keep us beer fans happy get some good PR. I’d just be careful about conflating large with good.
In any case, cheers to California for having 8 breweries on the list!
