Beerstravaganza: We’ve got it covered!

April 18, 2008

With everyone down in San Diego this week for the Craft Brewers Conference it was probably inevitable that some of that beer goodwill would spread north to San Francisco.

Coming up in the next few days we’ll have:

  • Five Guys & A Barrel (Sunday, 6:30pm): Bruce Paton (”The Beer Chef”) cooking up a four+ course menu with beer pairings from Allagash, Avery, Dogfish Head, Lost Abbey, and Russian River.  Tickets are sold out.
  • Meet the Brewer @ The Trappist (Monday, 6:00pm): Rob Tod of Allagash on-site at The Trappist serving cold plates and several special Allagash beers.  Tickets are $45 and may still be available.
  • Meet the Brewer@ Toronado (Monday, 6:00pm): Sam Calagione of Dogfish Head on-site at Toronado serving cheese and several of the Dogfish Head beers that will now be distributed on the west coast.  No tickets necessary.

I’m super-bummed that the Allagash and Dogfish Head events overlap because I’d love to be at both.  As it is, I can’t really complain since I’m going to Five Guys and a Barrel and the Allagash tasting.  Luckily, Rob DeNunzio at Pffif! and I are collaborating a bit here to cover all the events.  You can find him at the DFH tasting on Monday.  Enjoy!

So, yeah, I’ll be enjoying a little bit of olde & moldy action, but I’m still totally freaking jealous that you got tickets to the Bruce Paton dinner and will be hanging out with Rob Tod on Monday night. The question remains, though, where will the other three brewers (Tomme, Vinnie and Adam) be on Monday night? Hmm…

    Yeah, still pretty jealous.

I would bet a lot of money at least one will be at the DFH event!

Do I win a prize if I manage to wrangle a photo of the lower 48’s best craft brewers holding me up like a tropy catch?

My jealousy is showing through, isn’t it?
